Dan Ryan
Sara Lee Corporation, Continental Illinois National Bank/Bank of America
Corporate Officer/SVP Human Resources
What drew you to the Lupus Society of Illinois (LSI)?
I was drawn to LSI by my daughter. While attending an LSI event at Rush with my daughter, I was reacquainted with my former coworker and LSI CEO, Charles Brummel. The rest is history.
Why did you choose to be a board member?
I felt that my corporate work experience and volunteer board memberships would be helpful to LSI as it rebuilt its board.
How many years have you served on the board?
I have been on the LSI Board since 2018.
How do you feel about LSI’s history and the 50th anniversary?
Frankly I was unaware that LSI has existed for 50 years. This is a remarkable milestone.
Where do you see the LSI in another 50 years?
LSI must continue in its mission to educate individuals and support Lupus research over the next 50 years. Hopefully, during the next 50 years, a cure will be discovered.
What are your goals while serving on the board?
My goal as an LSI Director is simple, i.e., “To assist the organization in achieving its mission in any way that I can be of assistance”.
Do you have a personal connection to lupus? If so, feel free to share whatever
you are comfortable with.
My personal connection to lupus is through my daughter who has lupus.
